Clutch Confusion

acquinn91
Hi guys,

Just got my basket case 82 CB 750 K running on the center stand. Now running into a bit of confusion with the clutch.

In neutral, the rear wheel rolls free. Drop into first, there is some resistance, but the wheel does spin. Pull the clutch IN, and the rear wheel locks, engine wont turn over. Starting in neutral, no wheel movement. Drop into first, no clutch, rear wheel spins, can be stopped with firm pressure from a shoe.

Pull clutch in, and then it engages fully. I have gone up and down on the adjuster nuts, and go from having no clutch engagement, to having the clutch engage when I pull in, and disengage when it is out. I am confused by this, and have given up for the night.

Please let me know if there is any insight.  Thanks.
