Clutch adjustment?

nyraised
Hi everybody..hope someone has an idea on this. When I start off in first and let the clutch out it lurches foward and stalls...otherwise all the other gears shifts fine and downshifts into first no problem. The clutch is either all in or all out on first gear. Is there any adjustment so I can ease it into gear easier without it stalling ?

What model is the bike, and how many miles are on it? Also has the oil been changed with an oil that has friction modifiers?

Dave has a dohc, I don't remember what year but it is 79-82 and clutch should be the same through all those years.

Dave, was this a subtle thing or a sudden issue? Generally when this happens, it means the clutch plates are worn out and do not slip right.

Have you noticed any different in clutch feel or pull? If the pull is different, a spring might be shot or broke.

Well it could be F'ed up but the oil didn't likely do it. Not unless there was a ton of sludge in the engine which was knocked loose by the oil. Even then, that usually causes the clutch to slip.
