DOHC and SOHC parts interchangeability?

Jackmcgack
So... just picked up a 1981 CB750C, and I've noticed the parts market isn't exactly as big as the earlier SOHC market is.  I was wondering, is there too much difference between the two?  I'm especially concerned about the frame and forks, because I'm thinking of possibly getting a new frame for this one.

The forks will interchange with a tapered roller bearing kit. Also the wheels, and some break parts will interchange. But not much else.

I assume then that a hardtail kit for one won't work on the other?

No, not with out a lot of modification. they are very different in their design. However Cycle One makes two different hardtails, for the DOHC, and one is (I think) around $250.00.

I have an 81 cb 750k and have been able to easily find any parts I've needed so far.
Heck,I almost picked up a 2nd one so I'd have another one for parts just in case.  They seem to be pretty common where I am.  This is stock though.  If you want custom that is different.
What parts are you looking for?
