Drive Sprocket Play

This post was updated on .
After putting the drive gear back on the bike during reassembly and torquing to specification, the sprocket has a little side to side play in it that is about .015 inch. Is this common in this bike? I've heard of bikes having a little play on the drive sprocket, but not sure if this is the norm for a 1979 CB 750K. Anyone know?

Sorry for not replying sooner. I think some play is normal. I am not sure how much though.
I would have to check a manual. If you have not gotten it, download it in our manual section.
I know though, a lot of aftermarket sprockets are narrower than the original honda ones.
I will see if I dig it up tomorrow.
The ride IS the adventure. The destination is just to get gas!

My 81 750c is like this too . -- Doesn't seem to bother anything . -- Original sprocket was the same way . -- I'll do some digging to find out and post reply later . --

Thanks for the feedback.  It didn't seem like a big deal, but it was enough to give me pause for concern when everything else seems to be so tight on this bike.  I appreciate the feedback.  BTW, I do have the manual, but I didn't see anything in there about this issue.
