Electrical Issue?

charlesd89
Hey guys,
So I was working on syncing my carbs a second a go. The bike was starting fine, but then all of the sudden it stopped turning. It was like night and day. First it was turning and starting fine with no issues, then all of the sudden, "click, click..." nothing. The electrical seems fine. The lights and blinkers still work. I gave it about an hour to cool off thinking that it might need some time to cool. Came back to it and it turned for a couple seconds but then slowly died off till it wouldn't turn anymore. I charged the battery five days ago. It was sitting for the next couple days without being charged or hooked up to the bike. I don't see how that would make a difference. Fuse is brand new. I certainly can't see it being the battery, but it sounds like it might be. Any suggestions?

I would test the battery. Also it could have lost charge while idling. The battery does not charge until the engine is running at 3500 RPM.

Plus one what tools said.  Its amazing how quickly the battery can drain down when you are working on a bike.  If you were cranking it and starting it several times, or just checking all of the lights to see if they work, can and will drain a battery rather quickly, especially one that has been sitting not hooked up for a few days.  Start by putting a good charge on the battery and see if that fixes it.  Im no electrical expert, but reading your description sure sounds like a battery issue to me.
