My 2nd bike, put on hold when I got the CB.
A 1975 Montesa Enduro.
They made maybe 3,800 of them.
Cut from the previous years leftover Cappras,
Montesa's pure motocrosser, the 75 was a wolf in sheeps clothing.
Almost 30 hp, the top 250, only the Bultaco was lighter that year, by a pound.
1st gear is a bit lower, 5th a bit taller.
The rear piston skirt is a tad longer, giving a bit more midrange.
A bigger tank, and the lights.
And that's the difference.
Basically, a motocrosser that can go anywhere.

As you can see, water had gotten in thru the exposed airbox, filling the cylinder
with water.  Had to hack the piston out with a hammer and chisel.

I've got a crank, cylinder and piston (all std) off ebay last winter.
The frame, swingarm and forks have been stripped and rebuilt, pics when I find them.
The bearings, seals and gaskets are on order.
I get the motor built, it's maybe half way there.

Beginning of July is the date I want it done, stay tuned guys

Damn that piston and crank do look bad. Is the cylinder wall ok? Might need a new sleeve.

ya Rerun, it was a hassle.  Splitting the cases fought me big time also.
surprising tho, the cylinder and sleeve cleaned up real nice.
No matter tho, I got another one with matching piston.
My bike, number 1125, got a few critical things last year off a guy on ebay.
He was parting out # 1028, 100from mine apart on the assembly line.

I'm waiting on an expantion chamber (muffler) on ebay to go in 2 days, a guy has
one I want.  He thinks it's off an older '68 model, they were called King Scorpians then.
Downswept pipes take a beating.  If you look, the one on the bike was toast.

This is the bike he quotes he's got stuff for, the yellow 24m in the enduro section.
Mine looks like the red '75 automix King Scorpian.
Is that my pipe or what?  Hope I get it, they're out there, but costin' 4 to 500 bucks, with dents.

Cool.  Hard to find parts for that?  Do you end up making your own gaskets etc?  With so few bikes, are you worried about being able to run it for long?

That awesome Grady! I saw a Montesa kinda similar to that at Barber a while back.The way the head fins are laid out is just plain cool! Very cool bike indeed,and I am having serious two stroke envy as of late...this is not helping! Have fun with it bud!

haha, effin' Tools. yes, the 76 cappra in the gallery is nice.
As far as parts Seez, a lot of the parts on these early Spanish bikes
change out.  Ebay, Southwest, you can get most anything.
As far as running them, like my Honda, sometimes kinda
hard maybe, but the days of wfo abuse are  over for me.

Lights and stuff are gonna be the big thing.
I'm not gonna pay a ton to get it back to original.
The idea is a true, bulletproof as can be racer, as light as possible.
Lights, horn, all that is gonna be aftermarket.

On top of all that, I wanna keep that beautiful, 60s to 70's Spanish look.
Fiberglass gas tanks, stainless steel spokes and rims, works of art imo.
If I can get it half as good as this on I'll be happy.
