Even deeper thinking

I have, for some time now wanting to design, and build a single carb intake, for a CB 750. I had thought about using a two barrel holly carb. The other day while surfing youtube. I found this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ae2HO_I0aVI I wish I could see more of this bike. All you see is it idling. I want to know how it works on the road.

Huh. Interesting. Back when I used to be on the other sohc forum, some people would talk about doing things like that and others would get their egos in a bunch and say how the OP was stupid for trying it or that there would be this or that problem. Thats one of the things I like here. We do not do that. We might put on potential issues that may arise but we have the creative spirit here.
I never thought about having the carb sit up like that, behind the tank. Seems one of the biggest things people bring up are the intake runner lengths and smoothing out airflow though I am not sure how much smoothing out is done in 3 inches of space.
This would allow better runners. Only thing is finding a tank or modding one and getting a filter to fit.

I keep thinking about the slant 6 dodge engines. they had a manifold that looked like one of those (I don't know the name of them) Jewish candle holders. Went from around 8 inches in the middle. To 18 inches at the front, and rear. Those engines would run real good. Often would out run V-8s. I am thinking if it would work there. Why not on a bike?

If you have the time, it would be worth trying.
If you could figure out a way to mount the carb, a small box with flexible exhaust tubing to take care of spacing issues, hell you might get something to work.
