Exhaust mod question

rij1
This post was updated on .
I have a question about my exhaust.
I know how my exhaust sounds when I modified my exhaust with homemade lollipop baffles on my v-twin Yamaha roadstar warrior. Its almost like running open strait pipes but not quit as loud Its and I get some more back pressure back in return I have more torque compaired to running just strait pipes.
And compaires to stock baffles its allot louder and I do loose torque with my lollipop baffles.

My question is How would my bike sound and perform when I use the same type of lollipop baffle  compared to my regular baffle on my on my 1982 cb750f supersport 4-1 exhaust?
My lollipop baffle is a washer on a small bolt.

I think you would be better off experimenting with homemade baffling that inserts into the muffler instead of something like this. You might drop the volume a bit with a lolli but you would also probably cop some of the top end off. Hard to say if you would gain any torque but I doubt it. If you did, it probably wouldn't be enough to make a butt difference.

The lollipop baffle I made is like a copy the big city thunder monster baffle(http://www.bigcitythunder.com/component/content/article/10-product/14-thunder-monster-baffles.html). It has a reduced inner diameter and a lollipop. I would remove the muffler internals and insert the simulated lollipop baffle id make into the exit side of the 4-1 header pipe then put the muffler housing back on. But It may be too loud. So making a more restricted baffle would be better for my application I'm guessing or would you think I should try the lollipop one then try a full baffle..
What I'm looking for is my exhaust sound to be deeper and not too loud. I want it louder then it is now.

The internals on my current muffler is just like this picture..

This other picture is a monster baffle-

If your lolli is like the bottom pic, yeah it will most likely be pretty loud. Probably not as loud as a big twin, but still loud and may get LEOs attention. What you could do is use the lolli and wrap some stainless steelwool around it. Should still get good flow while maybe curbing the sound level just a bit.
