'79 - 750K
This scoot was re-built just before I bought it. Over 2 grand in work. The only thing they didn't touch was the grips.
Anyhoo, it only has 13K on it & was considering a couple of changes. I also have the worlds ugliest CB900C lurking in a corner of my garage. The 900 has air adjusted forks & dual disc front brakes. I saw a comment about changing forks in a post by someone in April of 2012. The post was regarding an engine swap for a 900 into a 750. Interesting article by all contributors.
Problem??...only a quick mention of the fork swap. I did a little measuring for what it was worth. It looks like it MAY be possible. Does anyone have any thoughts or experience with attempting this???
I would like to take the forks, the front tire & a couple of other small parts off the 900 & sell the rest to some one for a ridiculously low price. When I say "ugly", I'm only talking about the paint. Some one let it sit outside for a thousand years.
NO dents in the tank. Both side covers still there with logo's but need a little help with the latches. i just re-upholstered the seat...looks fine now. All the tranny goodies work flawlessly. The engine is strange.
Everything works fine. BUT....When you start it up, it knocks like a rod is about ten seconds from coming out the bottom.
NOT TRUE. It's the clutch basket making all the racket. When it warms up, most of the noise just goes away. I've run the bike an several occasions at speeds well over 80 for long periods......NO problem...Go figure. A friend ( alleged mechanic)
says the clutch basket noise is a common trait with the 900's. Huh?
I live out in the boondocks....Pocatello, Idaho. Some guy went to visit a relative a year ago in a nearby State & now we have discovered inside plumbing. Who'da thunk. ...LUXURY!!!
If there is any info, interest or opinions out there please let me know. Yeah ...I'm a newbie to this forum...., but I'm tryin' hard boss, real hard boss. Nice site ...Looks great.
