Well,I just got through with the MSF course and I have to admit,I thought it was a goofy idea,but I really enjoyed the class. Met a lot of nice people and had a really good time.I even learned a little bit while I was at it. Thee 100+ degree temps were rough,but oh well. I am planning on going back when time permits and take the advanced classes, it was that much fun. The beginner class is admittedly basic,but well worth the time and effort to go thru the class.Highly recommended!

Thank you Cabreco for allowing to have a head start with the pdf you so kindly sent me.I was a big help!

And Sarge told me several months ago about riding the clutch & dragging the rear brake for tight,slow turns. There were 8 guys in my riding group and only one other rider, and myself, could maintain the figure-8 inside the box. I credit this to me being able to practice this long before I even signed up for the class. So,Thanks Sarge!

You know I almost expected you to have a picture of a greencard when I read the heading to this post, , but good for you man, I loved taking the class too, you get to ride with people that don't judge you and you get to have an instructor that is usually really helpful, makes me wish I could go back and do more classes

thats sweet..i did that same class last year..at the end they read off our "score" and my dad and i had the top score(i was #1)...im so proud that i can ride better then teenagers and little asian girls

HAHA! No need for a greencard here. Good thing I was born here,the way I procrastinate! Yeah,the instructors were really laid back and just wanted to help. Honestly,there is one guy from this class I hope I never meet on the road. I have entered his helmet design firmly into my memory.

I remember when I took the MSF course....way back just 1 year out of high school...I didn't know how to ride, I just knew I wanted a bike. A friend tried to teach me to ride on a spare bike, but I was one of those guys who NEVER drove anything without an automatic trans before, so needless to say, I stalled it several dozen times in the first few minutes. After the class, a three day class with two days on a track course...I could jump on a bike and smoothly shift and ride like I'd been doing it for years! Best money I ever spent!
Also the things I learned in that class saved my butt over the four years a bike was my ONLY transportation. It saved me from at least one accident a week for the entire four years! No lie!

Congratulations, Shiny!  For those interested, check out the "Ride Like a Pro" video series:  link. Jerry Palladino demonstrates some incredibly useful techniques. One of the very best investments in my riding skills.  +5 on the MSF course.  I took it back around 1981.  It saved my life more times than I know.  My wife, and son, took it as well.  They both feel as I do:  one of the very best things you can do for yourself, and others, to improve your riding skills.  Cheers!

Thanks for the Congrats,guys. I only wish they taught people how to drive a passenger car as thorough as they teach the motorcycle class. If they did we'd be alot safer on these bikes.

Congrats man! Just this morning, I was pulling a tight turn, and the bike wanted to tip. Remembered to offset my weight, and I made it without further hitches.

They teach you some good stuff in that class!
