Fixed one problem, another shows up.

Hey,

 My last project was replacing my chain and sprockets. It took me awhile to get everything apart, but putting it back was easy.  I took it for a spin, and lost power while riding.

This has happened before, and it ended up being a bad ignition coil. When I got home, pipes #2,3 were cold to the touch.  Is it safe to assume my ignition coil is bad again?? I replaced it with another used set of coils, so it could have died as well.

Anything else it could be, before I order another set from eBay? I can't afford new ones, so it's the risk I take buying used. I replaced it almost a year again.

I'd say that lack of combustion on cylinders 2 and 3 is probably spark related.  This assumes both carbs are working like they should.  

Check all the connections for the input and output(s) of the coil.  Sometimes a little corrosion for the ground can cause a weak spark.  The 2 small wires on the input side can get loose.

The FSM should tell you what the readings on the coil should be.  Check that as well.

Could it be grounding out? Or have u tested it with a meter?  Coils are very simple. Hard to believe they are going bad.

Check the wires, and the connectors (both ends).  Wires should be solid copper core, not carbon core.  Also check the plugs to be sure they're getting fuel (should be wet after a ride -- replace them to avoid bum plugs from being soaked in gasoline?).  NGK's Iridium plugs require less voltage to spark -- expensive, at around $8 per plug, but they improve ignition performance, dramatically (do this last, as you do not want to foul an $8 plug!).  Cheers!
