Really sorry that I can't help you out [and I mean *really* sorry!].

My 80 CBK has been in the shop since the end of May, waiting on an oil seal and [unexpected] bearings -- the bearings are on back order and are supposed to be in . . . supposed to be in . . . supposed to be in . . .

Our riding season is short enough -- loosing 2 months sucks! And by the time I pay for labour ['cause nothing's easy on an '80] I could probably have unloaded my bike, flown down to you, and ridden back and still been ahead.

Unfortunately . . .

Hope you sell it soon -- or better yet, catch a windfall so you can keep it!

Well I know what you mean by still coming...still coming...

It has been part after part after part for me. This was my first bike. I swear that I will never buy another bike this old until I can afford to completely go through the whole thing. This bike sat quite a bit before I got a hold of her. $1400 later on top of the $1500 I bought it for, its a very solid bike and exactly the way I want it.

I will post pics soon. Check back. You might change your mind when you see it.

I paid only $600 for mine [71,000 km on it]. Knew there was a problem with one carb but soon discovered they were all messed up. $

While the carbs were being done the gas tank [full of rust] was cleaned out and leaky petcock replaced. $

Paint job. 0! [OK, cost of paint -- white metallic pearl].

Oil seal [$20] bearings [$125] labour [10 hours estimated @$85 per]. $

My $600 bike is now going to be like yours -- a $3,000 bike -- but when it is finally on the road purring I'll be a happy camper. Thought I'd dumpt it for a newer one once I could afford it [would have been this year] but I'm just getting used to the feel, the ride, and the beautiful sound. At least I would be getting used to it if I had her!

No issues. The bike runs and looks great. As you see, I don't have the side covers on it. I do have one side cover for it, but it isn't painted yet to match the bike. The carbs have been rebuilt with a stage three dynojet kit. The stock airbox has been removed and replaced with individual k&n air pods. New mirrors, front tire, master cylinder, new steel braided brake lines, new rotor, stator, battery, and reg/rectifier. I put the vance and hines exhaust on the bike, along with the headlight visor. The bike runs and sounds great. I hate to see it go.

I am checking out a general shipping quote for Merrifield, VA. Not sure if you are anywhere near there or not, but it should give us a rough estimate.
