Forgot the tensioner blade :(

surfish95747
Well, I am thoroughly disappointed in myself. Pissed really. What do you see sitting outside of the engine?

Yep, you got it. That's the tensioner blade. I forgot to put it in. I've got the entire cylinder head and everything put back on.

My question would be one, what does the tensioner blade do, as I seem to have tension on both chains (I am sure it does something, or else it wouldn't be there)? Also, do you think I can slip it back in the engine by just taking the camshafts out again? Or does the whole cylinder head need to come off? Thanks guys for letting me vent. Damn.

Do not know if you can put it in without removing the head, but you do need to put it in. It guides the chain keeping it from whipping and eating a hole in the block.

Well, its back in. 2.5 hours was all it took. Kind of annoying, but not bad to fix.
