Forward Controls

Four 2 4
Hey everyone.  Glad to find a place for fellow CB750 enthusiasts!

I just purchased some forward controls(TC Bros Choppers) for my 80 CB750 K....want to upgrade my exhaust next(still running stock 4-to-4)....wondering if anyone has had luck with a particular brand/style.

I'm asking because I'm worried about clearance issues.  have seen the MAC sets, but would prefer to run the V&H 4-1's....none of the suppliers I have talked to can give me a straight answer, and of course, don't want to accept return pipes if they won't bolt up.

ANy help much appreciated!

Well you can try to contact v&h directly and see if they can give you a part number for the correct exhaust.
Otherwise you can also try to get a kerker.
The ride IS the adventure. The destination is just to get gas!

Good idea.

I would also call the forward control people and simply ask 'were these test-fitted on a bike w/ a 4-1 header on it?'

Thanks for your thoughts guys.  I talked with the guys I got the forwards from, and they said they had not heard of any clearance issues.   I got the controls bolted up this weekend, and I am very happy.  I did not purchase the $50 linkage kit that they had advertised, although, in retrospect, I should have considered it.  I spent at least an hour driving around to different hardware stores to find the ball joints/all thread/reinforcer tubing....and have all of it match in diameter and thread type.  What a huge pain, and after all is said and done, spent about $60.  I did go up to the 3/8' thread/tube diameter, vs the 5/16 they recommended.  It is nice and stuff, and looks a little beefier too.

Now if this !@#$ snow would melt, I could ride!  (Chicago area)

Thanks agian!

Interesting 2009 forward controls thread.

I was just going to purchase that brand of forward controls. I bought mine from another supplier because the foot pegs have to be welded on after you get them just to address that very problem of fitting the controls with different exhaust configurations, not to mention personal preferences or height and placement of the foot rests.
