Anyone have any pictures of the brake side of a 750 with forward controls? Trying to figure out what mounting points I need to keep.

Thanks fellas. I'm really looking for the hookup towards the back. Do the forward controls attach to the stock location at the foot peg, or do they run all the way back to the brake? I'm wanting to shave off the peg attachments, but I don't want to lose my brake hookup if I need it.

On the very first page of that thread I linked to, there are two pictures showing close up where the mount for the forward control attaches to the motor mounts.

I kept the stock pegs and controls because I knew I would want the ability to change position occasionally. I couldn't find a better pic, but in the first pic you can kinda see where I just added an arm to the stock setup to attach the forward linkage to. It looks like the rear arm is way too long, but anything shorter have poor ratios. You can only roll your foot so far on the forwards.
Thinking about the DOHC rear brake pedal, it's not much difference. You can cut the stock pedal off , but you'll probably need to keep the stock pedal pivot as a dummy to attach to.

Sorry, thought I had mentioned that. Behind the right side piece is some springs and hookups for the rear break. I was wondering if a set of forward controls hooks into this, or bypasses it and goes straight to the break.

I understand now (well I think I do) what you are asking. The connection for the brake can go either way. However it would be a long way to run a rod all the way to the brake. The best way to do the connection is to use the original brake pivot. If you look at the pictures in the link I posted, you will see that the linkage rod runs from under the forward, and then to the brake pivot. I like to cut the brake pedal down to about 2 1/2 inches, and then drill a hole for the new brake linkage to attach. Then mount the shortened pedal pointing down. By doing it this way you eliminate a lot of clearance problems from trying to clear the engine cases.

So here is my idea. you guys are right about the long run so I'm going to keep the stock pivot point, still going to look into maybe using light gage, rectangular tubing for the linkage or something cooler than gust a piece of all thread. my plan is to cut down the mount, leaving the pivot gear, and relocate the return spring onto the frame (if geometry works). Basically going to cut off the red part....
 What do you guys think?

Looks good to me. For linkages I use tubing threaded at the ends for male hemi-joints.

Looks like a good plan to me. Or, lop it all off and weld on a simple tube made to fit your existing pedal. But that would only be marginally cleaned than what you drew up there.
On the topic of the tubing that Tools mentioned, yeah. Oddly, solid stock will flex way more than tubing will, but it does give you the option of just threading the solid stock. I never could find tubing with the perfect I.D. for tapping.

Hey, you could just use a cable. Get a $25 parking brake cable for a pickup or something. Route it somewhere where it'll never be seen and rock on.
I'm thinking parking brake cables since they typically have pre-installed springs on the end that will help them return to neutral.
