Ok,you can laugh at this idea all you want to,i cant really blame you,but i have been trying to decide what handle bars to order for my cafe project.Wasnt sure if i a wanted a flat bar or if i went with clubmans if they would be too low.Anyways, while experimenting with different pieces of tubing i had in the shop i tried something.I flipped the factory handlebars upside down and reversed them.Free clubmans? They come close to the tank, but dont hit. They actually felt more comfortable than the flat bars. With the flat bars you cant really lean forward, feels like your stretching to reach them.Whereas with the clubmans you feel as if you are able to rest your weight on the bars themselves. What have you guys used in the past? What is comfortable to you?Or am i retarded for even trying this?
You can see here where i am resting on the "clubmans",where the flat bars even look uncomfortable in the pic

I like the clamp on bars, but your the one who has to ride it. If that set up feels good then go with it. How do they look when your off of the bike?

Hard to tell without controls on them.
Hers how close to the tank they get.The buttons on the controls did clear when i had them on there.Probably by 1/2 inch or more.

VAROOOOM VAROOOM! I have seen stock bars turned upside down like that before (even on some bikes on the forum here). If it works, but I think it is retarded TOOLS

One of the reasons I can't go completly cafe cause I like my bars just below my shoulders,i can ride for hours,I've moved mine just to be in different possition on all day rides 5-6 hrs.
your taller then me being 5-9 so your fit on the bike is totaly different,
I'll hook my feet on back pegs to strech out and move possition,so my bar can never be a full reach ,has to be able to bend my arm some,HWY pegs can you reach them and ride (if used) ?
leaning on your bars doesn't even sound right
put your gear on the bars and just use them (move up-down )and ride get used to the bike and then de side how to ride that fills safe, think I may need 1" ? 2 ? rise

I know what you mean.I'm not gonna have rear pegs or highway pegs.I think om gonna make a set of bars, like these, but not as low.I dunno, they really felt good just to sit on the bike,my only concern is once i get my helmet on if i will have to crane my neck up to see good.

You might want to look at JC Whitney. I have bought handlebars from them. They sell several brands, and their prices are very good. Also most of the time they will give, you free shipping.
