Front disc pad retaining plate..HELP

fighterDaz
Hi, my 82 cb750, has nothing in place to stop the disc pad pins from coming out. I think there should be a plate that covers the edge of the pads and retain the pad pins. I am hoping that these are a part you can buy, as the rest of the calipers are fine. Oh, the calipers may not be the originals, but they are a cb part. A part Number would be good. Thanks. Darren....

Bike Bandit is a good starting point:

http://www.bikebandit.com/houseofmotorcycles/1982-honda-cb750k/o/m2004#sch23550  ('82 CB750K)

http://www.bikebandit.com/houseofmotorcycles/1982-honda-cb750c/o/m1996#sch18856  ('82 CB750C)

Take a look at their diagrams, and see what you might be missing.  If the caliper assembly is a different year, you will need to know which year, or perhaps you can interpolate from the diagram, and your caliper, what you are missing.  Best of luck.  Cheers!

Thanks man, very useful site. It appears I have the cb750c calipers, I need the pin retainers and covers. Not sure how to get a Honda part number?

If your pad looks like this could be off an 77 F2

I believe the "Part Name"/"Description", on BikeBandit.com, is proper Honda terminology, though the P/N may not be.  Try printing off the schematic (right-click the image, "Save As", etc.), and the page with the Description and P/N, from Bike Bandit's site, and take them into your local parts shop, and show them what you need.  They will be able to order it with the information you provide.  If you plan to order directly from Honda, then you may need to call and speak to a Human Being.  Cheers!

Sometimes the Old Bike Barn is a good cross reference to the other online stores.  I find their P/N listings are closer to the Honda standards.

But that's just me.

Both www.mrcycles.com and www.powersedge.com show exploded parts diagrams, and show Honda genuine part numbers.
