Gas Tank Sealers

Khristian B.
I discovered a few pin holes in my '82 750F tank when I topped it off for the first time. I'm thinking of buying the KBS cycle tank sealer kit and I'm wondering if anyone has had any experience with this product, either positive or negative. Thanks for the feedback.

the process looks very similiar to por-15 which costs more.

the pictures of them poring the stuff into the tank looks like por-15 also.

I had pretty good luck with por-15, but I litterally spent a whole day and a half sloshing the stuff around.  Need to pay attention to the directions and not get impatient.  if you can't do that, forget it.

i too have used the por 15 and although it was a hassle with each step having to be followed to the letter it ended up working very well

Well they are a hassle but they have to be. Look at the environment they sit in.
The ride IS the adventure. The destination is just to get gas!

I used Caswell sealer in mine. It's two parts to make and one step to do it. When you pour it in, you just roll it around the tank and leaves a clear thick epoxy coat. This stuff works great and drys in a day.

you might call a local radiator repair place; a friend just had 2 gas tanks for his bikes cleaned out and recoated; it was not very expensive ($75 each) and he said it is better than new.
