It looks like a head-on collision between an HD Dresser, and a sleek Beemer... I love the Bat Bike reference -- had me LOL! Anybody know what bike the original Bat Bike was? Anyone know what happened to it? The original Batmobile comes on the market every few years, it seems (I think I saw it in the news last year).
The new Wing design is interesting, but it takes Honda down to an HD knock-off, for style. They've become followers, instead of leaders. I find that disappointing. We test drove a 2007 Wing, 1800cc's.
Damn that thing is heavy! It has a compressor on board, for the suspension. The salesman showed me the compressor, and lowered it all the way down. We all forgot about that, and we took it out for a test ride -- balance was on a razor's edge! Did I mention that bike was
heavy as hell? At 55 MPH, the only noise we heard, was the wind. It was comfy, and it handled OK at speed. Could not wait to get back, and park it -- I was terrified I was going to dump it, as the balance was nearly impossible, especially with a passenger sitting behind me. Nearly dumped it several times on the way out, and the way back in, because the balance was so off.
Price, back in 2007, was around $20,000, starting? It is excessively high priced for us. We bought a '93 Voyager, instead. The Voyager 1200's are close to the Wings they competed against, but at a fraction of the cost. If you want a luxory touring machine, either will fit the bill, but the cost of an older Voyager is far easier to reach. We've put over 5,000 miles on our Voyager, and we love it, and the fact that we paid cash for it: no loan, no payment plan, no guilt. Just hundreds of smiles per mile. On a long tour, comfort, and electronic cruise control, are uber-nice to have. The extra storage space is handy, as well. Cheers!
