The bone Doctor did surgery this morning, and put her arm/wrist back together. It took 2 pins, a plate, and 6 screws. He said there were fractures that did not show up on the X-rays. She slept most of the day, but was up, and mean as hell when I left this evening. She should be coming home tomorrow.

LOL. I suppose she deserves to be a little bit grumpy all things considered.
Glad to hear things went well

The real question is, did he use american or metric sized screws? We have to know if she's Jap or Harley!
Glad to hear she's doing so much better!
Turbos, Hondas, 4-bangers, what could go wrong?

10mm. Better be metric, even though Penny of TBBT says the metric system is for losers. To quote a few .signature files around here... "Where's my 10mm?"
Help her out the best you can. She'll need some TLC for a while. Keep us in the loop.

Tools I didn't know you broke toolbabe?
You gotta be more gentle. Being mean is just part of the healing process.
Well at least you got her repaired.
I wasn't so patient.
When mine got up in years & started breaking down, I traded her in for a new one (well, new to me)... 16 years newer.
Very low miles one previous owner....but that was 25 years ago.
In the last few years she's been developing a screeching noise that I can't stop. <lol> Glad she's feeling better. We need to see her riding that bobber you built for her!!

Hardware can be troublesome. If she complains of aches, during the first year, go back... Sometimes the hardware can irritate the bones, and when that happens, it needs to be removed (after one year, minimum). Don't sit on it more than a year, though, as they may refuse to do anything about it. I had an 8" plate, with 8 screws, removed after 16 years: lost time from work due to inflammation of the bone tissue around the plate, and one screw (caused debilitating pain -- couldn't use my right arm, and I'm right-handed). Hardware sucks, period, but the alternative is horrific deformity, and being crippled. Wishing you the very best of luck with it. Cheers!

Life was not to bad while she was on the pain meds. Actually it was pretty interesting However now she is no longer on them, and really frustrated. This making her mean as a snake, but I have not gotten the backhand yet. TOOLS

So how's Toolbabe doing? Was wondering the other day, and haven't heard anything for a little while.

She is doing pretty good now. She did have an infection, and they had to remove a pin early, and clean the infection out. However it looks good now, and is healing. Now she is getting therapy on the hand. This is going to take some time. She can barely move the fingers right now.

DAMMM! Thats some damage! Glad she's doin better
|

Just be aware that the ligaments, and tendons, will shrink, and tighten, over time, with disuse. They need to be slowly, gently, stretched out again -- which is what therapy accomplishes. Some folks think that it is a problem with adhesion, and they will force the joints -- tearing ligaments, and tendons in the process! Ouch! Therapy is a test of patience.
Glad to hear she is doing better. Wishing you both well! Cheers!
