Got my first noise complaint tonight

seestheday
Well, I was trying to dial in my air/fuel mix and eliminate some popping I was getting at higher rpm's and a neighbour came by (quite angrily) to complain about the noise.

I had previously asked the neighbours beside me to let me know if I ever bothered them with noise, but I neglected to talk to the guys behind my house.

I probably should have known better.  Don't start and rev your engine at night if you live in the middle of a city.  I should have just taken it out for a ride to see if my adjustments worked.

Nahhh....you're going to pi$$ off someone else once a day, it was just his/her turn.

This is one of the reasons why I'm going to put quieter mufflers (Sportster slip-ons) on my Shadow sometime soon.  Please don't play the "loud pipes save lives" card. I am not convinced.

Ya I'd honestly get quieter pipes if I could. I'll look into that sportster option.

Riding like everyone is actively trying to kill me but make it look like an accident is what is going to save my life :-).
