I have an 82cb750 and guess what!? Im having trouble with getting it to run good. It starts right up everytime...idles great...I can get on the bike and ride it but once i get to 1/2 throttle is spits sputters and pops like crazy. The bike has open exhaust and pod filters on it. I have pulled the carbs and rejetted them with a stage 3 kit from dynojet. Cleaned them really well (a few times) I got brand new rubber boots on it. Its a really consistant thing so i was curious if it could be electrical? I am new to this all so please dont rag me too much. I just want to ride. Thank you!
hey i had a same problem found a 1981 cb750 custom the guy i got it from was working on it and he took the airbox out and put on pods , i could not get it to run good , finally to make a long story short i put the airbox back on and it runs mint now
My opinion is it needs to be professionally tuned by someone familiar with pods and Dyno Jet.
Electrical is a long shot... it's probably in the carbs somewhere. I'm thinking main jets if it's an acceleration problem.
You got the right stuff to make the pods work according to several (haven't run them myself). Coils on these bikes are known to be weak. Are your valves adjusted?
