If i leave the clutch half engaged it will lower what it is idling at but i have no wish to do this the entire time i am planning on keeping this bike.
Don't let the clutch drag to hold the idle down. That will burn up the clutch.
Sounds like a carb issue. Try adjusting the idle when warmed up. If that doesn't fix it then check for vacuum leak with starting fluid. Last you may need to balance the carbs.
