Re: Harley build thread feeler

Hoosier Daddy
Not a direct fit, but an off the shelf exhaust adapter from the auto-parts store fits over the stock header (GL1000) then inside the muffler. Think it was a 1 3/4" ID piece.  Then I had to make some small hangers out of aluminum strip, but the holes lined up enough to make it easy.

Try and find the Sporty mufflers that don't have the cross-over. They were made several years but the newest ones have the connection for the crossover pipe you'd need to cap off.
The stock 1100 headers and muffler were welded and didn't sepperate like the 1000's.
I had heard that about the sportster seats as well, I picked up one from a newer "Nightster" and it had way too much curve and the front was too narrow. Again, I think guys are using pieces from the earlier "XL".

Hell yes!

If it's wrenching on a 2 wheeler, I'm in. Unless it's gonna be a bobber. Well maybe a bobber is OK, but let's not waste too many posts on how tricky the rear fender/license/brake light is. Well, OK, if it's really tricky. maybe.

Oh wait, this isn't the random thoughts thread . . . . . . . Never mind.

If you can`t tell, it`s raining and there`s nothing left to do on the bike, and I`m trying to finish off the leftover Mint Juleps.

Admittedly I'm not a huge (newer post 84) HD fan but, two wheels is two wheels my friend. And watching a good build, no matter the bike is always good to see.
It ain't a custom till you have customized it yourself.
