Fuse, maybe? IF not, get thee a test light, and find a schematic, and track it down.  It won't take too long to figure out.

You probably will not believe this, but the headlight quit working on the Toolmatic while on my trip to Tucson. To keep going I just wired opened the headlight up, and connected the white wire (low beam) to the running light (on turn signal.) This kept me going.
When I got home. I traced down the source of the problem. Now this is the hard to believe part. It turned out to be the starter button Yep the starter button. It seems that it is switched through the starter button, so that when you crank the starter the headlight goes out. this gives the starter all the voltage the battery has available.

Thanks for the explanation, Tools1.  I knew the headlight went out when I hit the starter button, but I didn't know it was wired that way.  Makes perfect sense.  Cheers!

No , thats not it, the light is not working at all. It seams it might be the relay switch, because the horn is not working aswell....

The horn, and headlight are two separate circuits, and have nothing to do with each other. I would start my search at the left handle bar controls since both the horn, and headlight Hi-Lo is located there. It might have become corroded.

I would check the circuits with an ohm meter. You never know.

Re: Head Light

dave Esch
i have this schematic, which is homemade and for my bike, a 76 750k. i have used it several times and found it to be extremely accurate. it may be useless on your bike, but re-run or tools might be able to tell u if it is the same as your bike.

Dave that is a very good diagram. Very easy to read. Paul the switches should be the same, but the charging, and ignition are different. I think Re-run should add it to our manual section.
