On a 1981 CB750c, how do you remove those bunny ears brackets?? I want to clean and repaint them black.

the headlight brackets on my 78k require loosening the trees and sliding the tubes out.

Is it the same on a C? I have a small hose going from the top of each tube going to the other one.

I don't know. I would suspect you have to disconnect that tube since I bet it is for filling air. Of course you would need to re-pressurize the forks after.

If it has air forks, please use a small hand pump to refill them. Too much pressure like from a compressor will blow out the fork seals VERY easily. I think they only need 4-5 psi to work properly. That's maybe 1-2 strokes with a small hand pump.

You must remove the little hose first. Just be sure to remove the end with the swivel fitting first. If, you don't the hose will twist up. Then, you need to remove the top caps off the forks. After that the easy way to proceed is to remove the top triple tree, and the headlight ears will slide right up.

If the 78K is the same as the 81K then the normal riding pressure s/b 1o to 16 psi, according to my owners manual.

Just take them off of the triple tree, and lay them out of the way. No need to remove the cables, or anything off of them.

No special tools needed. I know I could do it in 30 minutes, but if it's your first time expect to take an hour. Just be sure to block up the bike before removing the top caps.

Block up the bike? Center stand not enough? Front wheel on the ground, up against the wall?
