I know that most of the people on this site are responsible and don't take the risk of drinking and driving. Whether it be a bike or car, there can be NO exception.
I don't mean to lecture, but I found out this morning that a very dear friend of mine was killed in southern California a couple of days ago. He was riding his motorcycle and got hit head on. He did not die immediately, he died shortly after arriving at the hospital.
This hurts... His name was Jon Boehning, he used to live in San Jose with his wife Dawn. I was his neighbor for a few years, and am lucky enough to be able to have called him, "friend."
He was taken from his wife and young boys, and the rest of us fortunate enough to know him. He was like an uncle to me and I loved him and his family very much.

Was born there in Bay Area ,probably ran the same back roads through the Redwoods,were many of family and friends ashes remain...Thx.for the wake up call,..Piute..

Next time we are on our bikes, just dedicate the next ride to our fallen comrade. I, too, lost a close friend (I'd call him a brother) who lost control at 20mph on a curve, and went head first into a guard rail. Death was sudden and very quick. I know your pain, and I hope it passes enough for you to remember the good times.

I'm sorry to all if I was unclear... I have been rather emotional since the passing of my good friend.
To clarify, Jon (my friend) was NOT drinking and riding... He was killed by a man who had been drinking.
