Heel Toe shifter

ccRider246
I was wondering if anyone out there has seen an after market heel/toe shifter for the CB570. I am a proud new owner of a 1981 CB750F. I love the bike but would like to be able to get my toe under the shifter a bit better.

Chris, I've got the identical machine, same color too, and am looking for a toe-heel shifter too.
So far no luck. I am thinking of making my own. I just had Carpal Tunnel surgery and will be out of action for a while but after recovery I will go to work on it.
Here is a picture of the shifter on my Horex.

I plan on making one, also. I am thinking to bring it under the foot peg. I will keep watching this to see if anyone else comes forward with one before I make a prototype. Sorry to hear about the surgery. That will probably keep you in a cage for a while, eh? I will post my progress when I start.

Hello Chris,
did you ever follow up on the toe heel shifter?
Here is a site: http://www.scooterpart.net/products.php?id=1799
All we have to do is find out if the spline-shaft is the same, the rest can be altered.
Your idea of going under the foot peg with the heel part wouldn't work because of the side stand being in the way. It will fit between the foot peg and the aluminum plate.

Re: Heel Toe shifter

I haven't done anything on this, Karl. I sort of solved my problem by getting some good boots (Tourmaster Response) that allow me you pivot my foot further forward. I discovered that, being 6'2", I have a tendency to slide back in the seat. This makes it difficult to pivot my foot far enough to get under the shifter. When I sit forward in the seat where I should be I don't have a problem shifting. So, to ensure that I stay forward in the seat and to improve my comfort on 400 mile day trips I will invest in a Corbin Gunfighter seat. Thanks for the info. I will hold onto it as there might be a time when I want to add that heel shifter.

Different rearsets?

Nice thought but I don't want to put rearsets on. I am 60 years old and would like to sit up for as long as I possibly can.

Hello woodsrider250,
I am not looking for rearsets, just a simple extension of the shifter to the rear for up-shifting with the heal rather than putting the toe under the shifter to pull up.
My other bike, a 1954 Horex has this arrangement and I would like to adapt this to the Honda.
I am not getting any younger either, I am now 73 years old. I guess us older guys are just looking for convenience.
