Help.... 1974 CB 750E ???? Requesting info.....

kst8rfan
I am new to this site and have acquired a 1974 (I think) Honda CB 750E.  I have been looking and can't find the 750E anywhere on the production lists on the internet.  I can find all of the other letters (A,K,F, etc...) but have not ran across the "E".  Can anyone here tell me anything about it ???  Years produced, scarcity, value, etc......  This bike is not currently running, but cosmetically is very good with all chrome, turn signals, etc... in pretty good shape.  I am hoping to learn more about this bike and thought perhaps the folks on here could help me out.....  Any information would be greatly appreciated.....  Thanks  Jason  Salina, KS

Honda used the "E" in it's  engine serial numbers on all most every thing they built. The A's and some F's were the exception. If you give us the engine serial number we can tell you what it is.

Obviously, I don't know anything about this bike.. LOL    What you have said makes sense now.  I was assuming that the letter on the motor was the "model" of the bike....  Ok, here is what I have....
CB 750E  2034434

Can you tell me what I have and perhaps a value of it in non-running condition but average condition other than that ??

Trying to see if I got "took" or not.....  It has a non-current title from the owner I bought it from (he never changed the title to his name).  It was last tagged in 2008....  Can I get the title in my name from a previous owner other than the guy I bought it from ??  Is this even possible ??

It is a K-4 manufactured in 1974. However until 1976 bikes went by the model number, and not the year. Several bikes were titled a year or two after they were manufactured, because they were in storage. I myself have a CB 350 manufactured in 1971, but title as a 1974 in 1974 when it was sold.
As for a price it depends on condition, title, and location of the bike.

Here are some pics of the bike.  I am going to sell it and live in Salina, KS.  It currently is not running, but it certainly would with a little work.  I have a title, but it is not current (the guy I bought the bike from never had put his name on the title from the previous owner).  If it were yours, what would you ask for it ??  I really have no idea......  thanks  Jason

If the engine is not stuck, you should be able to get $500-800 in KS.

I live in Kansas. I'll take it off your hands
Salina is about 140 miles from me, just give me a couple hours to get there.

If the guy never filled in the back of the title with his name it's an open title and you could pass it along to the next buyer. If it was filled in with the name of the purchaser, it's in his name now and unless he's a dealer he can't assign it to someone else so he'd have to register it and obtain a new title to pass along to you.

You may be able to use that title to get a salvage title for it. I'm not too familiar with that process, but a salvage title will put it your name as a parts bike. It can be restored and registered following inspection but will always be labeled as a rebuilt vehicle after that.

In Kansas you can register it with a bill of sale and obtain an Antique title. If you still have contact with the guy you got it from, you can have sign a bill of sale form (http://www.ksrevenue.org/pdf/tr90.pdf), have the VIN number inspected and register it as an antique. Once it's tagged as antique it can't be modified to much, the vehicle has to remain stock appearing.

You might want to just go down to the county treasurer with the paperwork that you've got and see what they can do for you. I'm no expert.

Email me at:    jfeil@ben.usd240.k12.ks.us

We can discuss.  I have a few people interested in purchasing.  Would like to possibly sell it to someone here since everyone has been so helpful.

I will probably list it for sale here first.......  Let me know how interested you are via my email.

I'm out. Just got the renewal notice for my car and truck tags, forgot that was coming due. I hate April and May. First the IRS and state income tax then the state (again) and their damn property taxes on cars.
