The bike is a DOHC, it does not have points, so static timing is not not needed, or even possible. However I have said it before, and will say it again, in the video he cranks it for several seconds, and then it backfires. This is what an engine does when it is 180* out of time.

I changed it, better?  Early morning and dealing with allergies makes a person somewhat foggy.

As you say, it is most likely timing. Especially if starting fluid isn't working. Just looking at that stuff almost makes it go off.
The ride IS the adventure. The destination is just to get gas!

Well out of pure curiosity, I pulled my coils off and tested them to see what they read out.

My primary coil gave me a reading of 2.9 ohms and the secondary testing gave me no reading at all.
probably not the sole cause of my bike not starting, but its not helping. So i ordered a brand new set today.

As for timing, where do I start as to "checking" it? My bike is a 1980 c model, so I don't have points on it.
