i would have to say just get somthing to fit around the neck of the carb untill the pod fits on as long as there is a good seal on it

The jets are inside the carb, and have nothing to do with mounting pods. However you might have to change them afterwards.

Ha Ha Tools I knew they were inside but they were for a 76 SOHC  and MIne is a DOHC 81 model didnt know if they would still work in these carbs they are120 mains do you think they will still fit?

Did you buy the cheapo pods? The crap emgo or no name ones? If so, good luck, you will need it.
Your carbs rely on some sort of vacuum but those do not really work. If you go pods, k&n pods are the way to go. Even then, you will still be in for a bunch of work tuning. There is no way to say if a certain jet size will work. It is trial and error, and that is for the mains and for the idle mix.
Be prepared to learn your carbs intimately.

As for those pods, no, I doubt they will work as I think the 76 had smaller carb throats than the 81 did. I know the 76 is smaller than the 77/78 and so would not work.
The ride IS the adventure. The destination is just to get gas!
