Help/advice needed

Mustardcupcakes
Looking to purchase a 1973 cb750 current owner states:

Bike runs but needs work. Carbs need to be rebuilt and transmission needs work too. Clutch cable is working but it's not going into gear. New petcock valve, new ignition coils, wires, and plugs. New gel battery. Along with a new paint job.

The engine runs. I can start it for you and everything. It's just not going into any gears. It might be the clutch but I don't know.

Just wondering what anyone thinks could be the issue ad if it's even worth getting and attempting to rescue.

Thanks

All depends on what needs to be done and how much he wants.
Could be the clutch isn't adjusted right. Could be the case needs to be split and transmission fixed.
How much work do you want to do and how much money do you want to put into it?

Can't really say more without pics to see.

I have a few pics, nothing great though. And thanks for responding. I'd spend money to get it running if it's worth it. Just noticed he said he has a salvaged title so that kind of scares me too.

Yeah but you have bikes a plenty there. He might not be so lucky. Still, I wouldn't pay too much either. In my area, maybe 400, tops.
