Help identifing frame.

Oregonized
Hello all. I just bought this CB750. It was a parts bike and the person I bought it from wasn't sure about the date. It does have serial numbers but the numbers indicate that it's a 1971 and it doesn't look like any of the pics I've seen of the 71's.

It's great to be on this board. I really enjoy all the info.

Someone has modified the two rails that go along the side of the backbone. That's why it looks different.

So do you think the serial numbers look legit ? If so K1 1971? It would be nice to be able to start ordering parts. And thanks again.

Alot of parts are interchangeable and may have been swapped around. IE,you may have a later set of forks than a 71 should have so fork seal, brake calipers...may be different. Swingarm may have been swapped out...etc. Since someone modded those tubes there may have been other mods done as well. Post up a few pics when you get a chance to be sure of what all is there. It might save from a mis-order of parts like you said. Plus, we really like picsOk,I really like pics

Yea there's no visible number on the motor. Its complete with good compression. Got a lot of extra parts in the deal. The guy bought three bikes from the same seller and him and his son fixed up two and this one was left. They gave me all the parts from there bobber projects that they replaced. I got a truck load of extra parts that I still haven't gone through.

So are you thinking the motor might not be a 71?

Ok in the first pic you can see some extra holes drilled. A 71 tank wont fit this due to the mods made on the frame. Do you think these holes are for a after market tank?
