Honda CB750K 1982 - The rat brat

This post was updated on .
Hi guys, so I started with this project a couple of months ago.

Here's what it looked like when I bought it!

And this is how far I've come!

Endless hours down and more to go, I've just started to gather information about wiring the bike. Is there anyone here that could point me in the right direction?

I don't have the harness in one piece cause I didnt realise that was the much easier way to go.. The only two cables on the bike right now is the starter motor - solenoid and the one that goes from the alternator..

I bought a Anti Gravity 8-cell battery.

Thanks! :)

Thanks TOOLS but I've looked at a couple diagrams before and I'm trying to figure them out.

How would you start? Do you start by connecting the Battery to the Soliniod and then on the "Key switch" which I won't be using.. I just want a switch hidden somewhere, I will need a switch with 3 or 4 "modes"?

Sorry for questions that may or may not sound stupid but I'm really learing as I go..

If you like I would really appreciate your help to guide me through :)

Thanks man

Are you planning on riding it much, or is it more of a showpiece?

Are you planning on putting any fenders at all on it?  If you're going to ride it you might regret not running any.

Well I won't be using it as my everyday bike. Probably small trips when the weather allows!

Looks good man.

You'll want a main switch to go between the starter and battery.
The switch will cut power to the fuse box which you will need.
The diagram Tools posted doesn't show one, but I'd recommend putting on in.

I'm getting ready to work on mine, so check out my thread soon and it will be covered and lots of photos made.

Love that seat.

You make it?

Thanks bro!

I got the seat from Dime city cycles! I was thinking about making one myself but I'll save it for my next build ;)

I'm not sure why I would need a switch there? And regarding a fuse box, can't I just put a fuse between the battery and the start motor and so on?

This is really my first time dealing with wiring of any kind.. So I need all the help I can get :)

I have a question regarding the key switch, is it four different functions depending on how you turn the key? I could just replace the key switch with a switch with three stages and a button to start the bike right?

Thanks
