Hondamatic Caliper

Morning:
Wondering if anyone knew if a standard CB750 front caliper would be a direct fit on a 77 CB750A. I have a broken bleeder valve on my CB750A and am having difficulty finding a replacement caliper but am finding plenty of CB750's

Is there a big difference in performance between the two types?

Is it possible to drill out/repair a broken bleeder valve?

You can use a caliper off any 77-78 K, or 75-76 F model. However you can also use any 69-76 caliper if you use the bracket off a 73-76 K.

You can repair that caliper with the broken bleeder valve.
just remove the broken off bleeder screw, and install any bleeder valve you want.

Haha yeah, just if it was that easy. I welded a piece of rod to the broken part and tried to back it didnt move, it's seized in there.

I did however drill out with about a 1/64" smaller bit and picked out the remaining thread see if I could maybe save it but I think I went a touch to far. I will chase it with a tap and try a new valve see if that works out...
