How to adjust the clutch on 78 CB750F

Rockwork
How do I tighten the clutch action? I just got this bike and making all kind of adjustments and repairs.

It feels like the clutch doesn't begin to engage until the lever is at least half way out. Shouldn't it begin to engage almost as soon as I begin to release the lever? How do I adjust it?

^^^ Scroll to the bottom for adjustment. You want some free play. Personally,I adjust mine where the clutch lever has about 1/8''-3/16'' of gap between it and the lever perch.

Agreed with Shiny here... I would check at the actual clutch to make sure it's adjusted right where it should be down there then, give yourself about 1/8 to 3/16 give or take on the lever. If it's tight right at the perch then, you're gonna be pretty much, partially clutched even with no hand on it. Good way to burn it out or have some rough take offs.
It ain't a custom till you have customized it yourself.

Oh and, the simple adjustment at the lever is behind the perch. A big "wheel". Turn it one way and your lever will tighten. The other and it will loosen.
