White smoke coming out of my breather tube

Gedward
I'm really hoping to not confirm what I suspect but I need a second or third opinion. I have a 76 cb760 f and noticed white smoke coming out of the breather tube this morning. It had stopped by the time I got to work about 30 min away and it wasn't noticeable after the ride home.   There are no oil leaks that I can see.  I suspect it's a broken piston ring/gasket but I would like to hear other thoughts....

Which breather tube? Not sure why you would think piston ring...

I'm not super familiar with the sohc's but that doesn't make sure to me.

I'm also guessing you're running pods?

I may be calling it the wrong thing but it's the tube that comes out of the cam shaft housing and rund to the back of the bike.  And yes, you are correct I'm running pods.

I hope you don't mean the oil tube. Got a pic?

Actually, this is an sohc's, so I'm not sure if what you're calling a camshaft housing would have a breather tube.

The dohc definitely does not have a where you are describing it. It does have an oil tube, and that is how oil gets to the head. If you put a breather tube on instead then you'd melt your head.
