I think Its my Clutch Pack

fire101
So I have been having some, what i describe as knocking, in the area of my clutch. It is most obvious while the engine is in neutral and idling, but this knocking goes away when i pull in the clutch.  So i took the Clutch pack off and started the bike up again and the knocking was gone. i checked the service limits on the plates and they are all with in the service limit.
Also i noticed that the bracket slides a little back and forth on the clutch pack. Is that normal?
Any ideas?
Also I use just plain 10W-40 Valvoline motor oil in the bike Is that Ok?
I haven't had any slipping problems

The DOHC models mostly make a knocking noise at idle from transmision backlash, made worse if the carbys are not in sync. A faster idle, around 1200rpm helps. There has been so much discussion on oil in the past. Just use the search box (RH top corner) for any queery first, before posting.
