Well IMO, get new coils. Your old coils CAN be repaired but it is not easy. Depending on how beat up your wires are, you would probably have to replace them. Yes it can be done but it is not easy. You have to remove the wires from the coil. This involves cutting them out of the coil and cleaning out all its crap. Then you need to get new copper core wire and strip one end and shove it in the coil being careful to make connection and then epoxy the wire in place.
I have not done this but have heard of people doing it, there are people that feel the overwhelming desire to keep everything stock, even parts you cant see!
Now any coil that is 5ohm and dual lead will work. So there are a some aftermarket options. You will need to fab up a brace to mount them but they are usually smaller these days.
Partsnmore.com has coils for like $30 each. If you have a dyna S ignition, maybe use this time to get the 5 ohm dyna coils?
