All I've got is the parts list and prices. I don't think I will get the market analysis since they didn't total it.

Some people are nuts. Sounds like something my ex would pull. Glad you are okay, things can be fixed easier than people. Good to hear the insurance deal went in your favor, they can be a royal pain to deal with sometimes.

I guess the adjuster was a bit premature. The "manager" needed more info. They called twice with more questions about how it happened. They were having trouble approving the claim because the damage was "intentional" and caused by the insured (the policy, by default, had my wife's name on it, but the bike did not). Anyway, I'm still waiting on their decision. Could end up with nothing. Whatever.
Some of my ebay parts arrived (headlight, spedo cable, and taillight) so I decided to patch up the bike the best I could and go for a spin since the weather here has been phenomenal. So, temporarily, my bike is now a Rat Bike - The duct tape special. The headlight I got was too big. The auction said it was from a 79 CB, but I don't know. It was just a regular automotive headlight. Problem solved with duct tape :
I fixed the broken front turn signal stay with "Shoe Goo" (rubber cement)
Rear turn signals were busted off - Problem solved with duct tape :

No more duct tape headlight or dented up tank! Still haven't gotten word from the insurance company (Geico). Left a half dozen voice mails last week and no return calls. Will be shopping for another company whether they pay on this claim or not. They were quick to send an adjuster and provide an estimate but the rest of their service sucks.
Reminds me of "Fiona" before her recent face lift (See http://honda-cb750-s.456789.n3.nabble.com/1981-CB750k-FIONA-tp3106852p3997377.html, the color is pretty close )
I still got to paint the seat/tail fairing to match if I can find something to match that green.

so you who know, what's the difference between a '79 and an '80?

Just the seat, taillight and seat fairing, that's the only differences
I've noticed. The 79K was the only year with that taillight, it's the
same one used on the CX 500..

thanks, I could tell the light was different, and my seat isn't stock, but the bikes look similar.

I kinda liked the duct tape special. I really like the new riding partner You did well...on both counts
|

Still got some duct tape on the rear signals. But I went ahead and ordered a new set today.
The new riding partner is all I ever wanted in life. Hope she can hang through all this divorce craziness. Plus, we're in a long distance relationship. Keeping my fingers crossed. :-)
