Intro - New '81 CB750C Owner

zer024
Hi guys.  I just bought a 1981 CB750C.  I haven't even picked it up yet and I've already spent over $200 on repair and tune-up parts that I know it will need.  That's probably a little crazy, right?  I hope I don't end up with a chicken-counting problem.

Anyway, I bought the bike for $300 and all it really needs is a battery and a new tank.  I will have the tank that's on it available for sale if anyone wants it, but it has been painted white and will need some rust repair.

I'll post pics of that, as well as the whole bike, whenever I can.  I'll be picking it up on Saturday.  I can't wait!

Here's what I've bought so far (some of these have shipping charges included):

Tank - $65
Battery - $35
Oil filter - $15
Air filter - $17
Spark plugs - $13
Master cylinder rebuild kit - $27
Clutch lever - $3 (The one on it is bent weird.  Somebody did it on purpose, but I can't see why.)
Bike cover - $17
Grips - $13 (The ones on it are kinda rotten.)
Starter solenoid - $10
Battery box - $10 (The one on it is all rusted.)

I believe the only other thing I need is an original 4-4 exhaust.  It's got a 4-1 with no baffle and it's loud as shiite.

I welcome any questions, comments, or suggestions!

before you ditch the header think about taking the muffler part off and replacing it with a short glasspack muffler ----cherrybomb 12"--they work good and sound great----a muffler shop can put the right angle and pipe size very easy------------I have also taken a long cherrybomb sawed both ends off --pushed the guts out and then put them in my chrome header muffler shell and fabricated a plate for the end  ---SOUNDS LIKE A RACE PIPE---CHEAP

Sharp looking bike, makes me wish I had gotten a C instead of an F. It is a better looking bike for sure. Good luck.

Now that is a nice looking bike.

Are you looking to get rid of the 4 into 1 exhaust, because I have a 4 into 4 that I would like to trade for yours. If so please contact me by email and leave your info and I will call you.
