Jebbysan's 1979 CBX Super Sport

Jebbysan
Hello again.....this bike is damn near finished.
3 1/2 yera s ago I was looking for a CBX project when I recieved an E-Mail from Tom Neimeyer
in Dayton Texas. He claimed he had enough parts to build at least 5 CBX's and I should come out
and take a look.
Well....his shop was simply amazing. A liar for the CBX lover.
For 2K I loaded enough parts in my truck to build almost two bikes.
3 years and $4,300 later I have the bike I always envisioned.
Tom and LOUIS Minetrone in Florida hooked me up with some ultra rare
speed parts and Gene in Cali sold me his beloved Kosman 5" CB1100f rim.
The result is something I believe Honda should have built.

List of mods include:
6000 mile never opened 1047cc 6cyl engine.
Carbs Ultrasonic cleaned and rebuilt by me :)
1100f TRAC front suspension
Ohlin's shocks
Kosman widened 1100f wheel to 5"
160/70/17 Avon Storm 2 rear tire
VFR rear caliper
ATK A-Trak Vintage Cast swingarm
Alphabet 6-1 ceramic coated pie W/2-5 crossover
Accel coils
Big Crank battery
Diamond gold chain
Corbin seat
8" Suzuki GS1100e front headlight
05' Corvette Yellow with stock graphics in 7 layers of clear
Superbike bars
NOS petcock
K&N filters
Spocket specialties rear sprocket
Steering stabilizer

Thanks for looking :)
Jebby

That is so awesome. Any chance of getting a video of it running/driving? Love that inline 6 sound...

Have you had a chance to ride it yet? Does it feel as top heavy as you'd expect?

An inline six, sideways, on a bike is just so over the top that it wouldn't really matter,to tell the truth Enjoy that beast dude! I know I would.

CBX's the engine was a stressed member.....no downtubes.

I have not rode it.....but rolling it around it feels much less top heavy than my 750....
the engine actually sits lower.....
That might change with 5 gallons of gas in it though.

Wow,that's very interesting. So if you need into the valvecover can just just support the engine on a stand and remove the upper mounts? Or is it more complicated than that?Sorry,I'm always full of questions.

I've had a touch of F model DOHC envy for sometime now. I love the tins on these bikes. This thread is making my envy nearly unbearable

Yes...you can "tilt" the engine forward to do Valve Lash....in fact if you run the stock airbox....
it is the only way to remove the carbs.
