Looking for an oil pan???

Truck
So I'm Having a brain fart on the actual term, but I'm looking for an oil can? Bag? I'm thinking it would look cool to go without side covers and hide all the electronics, and maybe the battery, inside an oil bag.

Anyone got an idea where I could find one or have one made?

Thanks!

Just search ebay for "chopper, bobber, oil tank. Or look on some of the chopper sites for oil tanks. However since you are going to use it for electrics, you can get creative and use just about any container.

Yeah, I was even thinking about trying to make my own out of fiberglass. That way I can make it the right size for what I need.

Pre-made oil tanks have become crazy expensive due to recent hipster involvement in the market. Hell, I've seen pieces of metal and a handful of fittings listed as diy oil tanks sell for way over $100.

Due to the long amount of case that the CB has in the transmission address, Santee boxes look really nice with these engines IMO. But they aren't big enough to hold a battery, unless you go with a lithium type deal, and they're crazy expensive.

Lowridersbysummers , or bytommy, I can't remember which might have some Santee boxes for sell. Or Cycle one. Or at least have pics of the thing so you can decide if it's something that'd work for you.

A Santee box would be really easy to make at home.

If you're planning to permanently mount some saddle bags, just build a false floor. That's my plan for my hardtail frame.

Thanks for the info. I looked online and you are right, stupidly expensive. Think I'm going to try and make my own.
I'm going with a normal size battery, the plan is to set it in the middle of the tank with the top sitting out under the seat with a box around it to cover the top. Not looking to completely hide the battery, just a cool look to hide all the wiring and a place to mount the battery.

I forgot, but I might have an old HD tank that has a battery shelf in it. I don't know if the chrome is salvageable, but if it looks like something you'd want I can get it to you. I know I had one, but not sure if I've still got it or not. Pics and measurements when I get in.

Chrome is going away anyways, everything will be either black cherry or just plan black.
Thanks, I am definitely interested.

I haven't forgot about you, Truck. I haven't been able to make it home at a decent hour for awhile now. Tomorrow is the day... I can feel it!
