This post was updated on .
I see the url was already changed by some intrepid admin. Great, now I have to get moving on changing stuff!
Edit:
So I have changed the names of a couple areas, nothing more. Most of the stuff is staying, as-is. Since they don't need to change. Write-ups are just that, we'll probably just need to modify the names of them to reflect the type of bike.
Members riders, ect, pretty self-explanatory.
It is the main topic location that I will have to dink with and see what I can do. Ideally, I'd like to have it sorted out by models, if not sizes. For example; sohc 4s, twins, ect. I think if I tried to break it down by engine size, it may become too messy?

Yes, too much can be too messy. Maybe Singles, Twins, and Fours.

Hey, I totally agree, never have been on fb, kinda dispose the whole entity and how it works.
But, the guy that apparently runs and pays for this place is looking for numbers.
And like it or not, there's probably thousands over there that would give this place a look.
Sad, but true.
And before rerun ditches this place, I'd throw in a hundred dollars a year to keep it going.
A few others do the same, no need to do anything else.
Put Tools up as an admin, let him run it.

I do not think it is money issue, it is an activity issue. People come lurk, find what they are looking for, and move on. Never interacting, or sharing something that they might know. May as well just be a book on a library shelf without the interactions of people.

Yeah, no not a money thing. I mean sure, money would allow for no ads and probably a more customizable forum.
It's as Tools said, lack of activity. I mean, we have a fair amount of info here, but it isn't drawing new people much, and older members don't visit frequently. I'd rather NOT ditch it, if it can be helped.
Also, Tools is an admin, so he can make changes, if he saw fit. I just prefer to get feedback before I start monkeying around with things.
I am currently checking with nabble to see what layout may be best for the addition of different categories.

Really, as a layout, I kinda like the place.
The fact you can post pics without first loading them to photobucket or something, well, not a lot of sites offer that.
I dunno, it being 750cb exclusive is what kinda hooked me.
But hey, life goes on.

Hello from Northern Alberta. I have also feel myself guilty as a viewer and not a participant in the forums. First place I go is to the bike build thread. Just to see what other people are doing. My CB 750 has been a work in progress since new in 1975. I am a fan of the custom bike. New bikes are nice, restorations are fine. But not me. First customization was when I used it as the honeymoon chariot in 1980. Now most of the customization come as trying to keep this unit alive on our graveled roads. Engine rebuild in 1999 due to air cleaner failure. I would also like to keep this site as is, BUT....there are other interests here as well. Where I reside, there is a following of older Honda machines. Mostly due to the dealership here. I recently had the opportunity to acquire a GS 750 Suzuki for rebuild, but internet search came up as a sad experience. Kudos to you moderators for your resilience in finding and sharing older Honda information. Our local Suzuki dealer had also not sold a GS part in eight years. I left it as is in the granary. Safer there. Keep up the good works guys. And Thank you.

Hey Johnk. Man, it's too bad you're so far away. I've got a smoking deal on a GS 750 that I could pass along to someone. 90% complete titled runner with a freshly powdercoated frame for $200. Just needs to be reassembled.

You know having a "topics" and a "general discussion" and a "members builds" and a "members bikes" seems kind of redundant as they both seem to be the same thing. Maybe we should just have one of each, and then add section's for "singles", "twins", and "fours".

Well, topics is the current location for cb750 questions. General used to be "everything but cb750k". I could see combining members bikes and builds into 1.
Maybe the answer is to turn topics into the parts and manual spot, then creates the 4s, twins, singles.

Hi. Is lack of traffic really a problem? I have been looking almost daily, learning from answers to other
people's problems, and answering myself, whenever I can help. I'm sure there are many others looking
and learning, without participating. Is this necessarily a problem?
As for expanding to include other bikes, please limit it to Honda, but it would be great to include all models.
I hope to buy a VFR soon. I know there are other Honda sites, but this is the most knowledgable and friendly.
And some people may find Facebook useful, but many more don't. Keep up the good work!

I was working on a CB450SC Nighthawk before moving to Florida; it would have been handy to go to only 1 website for information I needed. I would vote for vintage Honda/CB.
And to echo what others have said: this website is a friendly website and I thank you! I went to other forums where non-purists or differing opinions were not valued and, pretty much, cursed out of the forum.
Ride safe, always!

I want to rest this, we are not moving to facebook. The buttons at the top are just like buttons that would link that particular post to facebook, nothing more.
Also, I guess I was basing traffic on the amount of activity in new post replys. I should see about google analytics, which I think measure page visits and such. It's just nice to know the site makes a difference for people.
Ok, so we will stick with hondas, at least for now. Possible expansion in the future. So we have singles, twins, and 4s. Obviously, we can do 350,500/550,650,750, and 900s. From 69-83, would that be good?
Now, I don't know the twins or singles, so we should set years to start with, and if people can start listing the models, I can start gathering manuals and such.
Later today, I will start a thread for singles and twins that people can put in what they come up with. Also, if you know parts sources or have manual links, put them in there, too. I can then download the manuals and put them on the our site.
I call it our site, because that is what it is. We all make it.
