just wanted to say it looks beautiful all black and original.i went a little different route but saved all original parts who knows maybe someday.i have an 80 750f would like it all black but cant get the tank perfect enough.you have a great looking bike!

I am so sorry!!! I just found the email your question was sent in - gmail filters mess me up all the time! My cousin & I did it. He has a compression sprayer for painting his band instruments - we even used the speckled black he uses on the instruments. I would also like to put the original stripes on, but in shades of silver. We put 1 coat of the black paint, a clear coat and then wet sanded. Supposed to do 1 more clear coat and sanding, but life's gotten hectic!
I did a little research and most wanted around $500 to paint it. I was nervous to start, but it was a great DIY experience.
