Nice ride, Tara! It is almost fully Vetter-ized -- just needs some lowers to be complete.
I sold my '79 750K several weeks ago. I wanted to make mine completely Vetter-ized, but it had another type of trunk, and I could not find the Vetter trunk/saddlebags in decent condition, and for a reasonable price. Went with soft, removable saddlebags. Your bike is essentially the same as my '79. My wife and I circled Lake Superior on our 750K, in 2009, just us, no other riders with us. Our bike ran flawlessly, the entire 1,935 mile trip! We have a new touring machine (the Voyager), but the Honda will always hold a place of honor in our hearts.
For Lowers, if interested, your bike would need Type 10 -- rare as Hen's teeth! I finally ended up with a Type 7 set, which I cut up a bit, to fit. They worked wonderfully, keeping the wind/rain/road debris, off of the driver's shins.
The photo's show a Showa shock absorber, but your bike appears to be equipped with the OEM shocks in the other photo's. If you want to modernize the ride (i.e., improve the safety/traction/comfort), I would recommend
Progressive 412 Shocks, and
Progressive Fork Springs (easy to install yourself). They will transform the ride making it feel/handle like a bike from the mid-90's, or newer. Go with the standard duty shocks, even if you tour with full trunk and bags -- the HD shocks barely moved down with both of us on, and the trunk/bags full! The HD ride super with two people on board, but they are nearly always topped out with just one rider.
Anyway, you have a beautiful bike. It has sufficient power, and handling, for riding the mountains of TN, even if you take a rider along. It's a bullet-proof bike, if it is well maintained. Looking forward to sharing experiences with you here on the forum. Cheers!
