My CB750C climbed the Appalachian Mountains, and I took pictures to prove it!

The ride was amazing, and the scenery was breathtaking. Not a bad maiden voyage for my first motorcycle

Rode 30 miles in the pre-dawn to get this shot 2 minutes before the sun crested over the mountain-tops to the east

My baby next to the rides some folks brought

Our "pack" parked at a scenic overlook, in the positions we rode in

1st overlook on the left if you get on the parkway near Waynesboro heading towards Humpback Rocks. Had to get up and ride in the lovely 40 degree awesome to get there in time for the sun to come up.

Absolutely worth every moment of numb.

You are fortunate to live so close to such amazing sites shiny. Seriously, I envy you (and not just for that polish job )

No need to envy me.Looks like you live in the same type of area!Im glad you are enjoying your bike, mine is the best $800 i ever spentHAHA  i know what you mean about numb,i went out under-dressed.My teeth were chattering and my right index finger kept going numb, too. The overlooks were more like a place to thaw out than anything else.I was able to thaw out my picture taking finger a little bit.LOL

p.s.  im sure you won't envy the fact that i have to drive 30 minutes on a 60 mph road just to get to the nearest grocery store

You got me on the grocery store bit. That's my least favorite chore as it stands . . . my family might starve if I had to drive that far to get food.

As for my area, it is actually pretty great . . . just flat. Very very flat. Lots of awesome farms around to ride by and kill bugs (seriously, the first time I rode around my area I could hardly see through my face-shield by the time I got back).

I was introduced to a really nifty ride not far from me called "Sand Banks" just on the other side of the NC line. All winding road with sand dunes and trees (I know, odd mix) on either side. Perfect for learning to lean when going fast

Here's the spot on google maps: Sand Banks

Sometimes it's all about the fixing, sometimes it's all about the ride.  I'm in riding mode now, since the weather has been cooperating.    During the winter (when I'm home), I'll switch to fixing mode.  The Avenger II is starting to weep a little oil in places. Won't _that_ be fun...
