Found a guy on craigslist selling a bunch of tires and assorted parts for cb750, just in case any of you guys were interested!

http://boston.craigslist.org/gbs/mcy/2709479885.html

What size tire can i go with on my bike? I definitely want a new set because mine are all rusted and i dont like the look of the spokes anyways.

the ones on bottom right motorcycle look awesome and 25$ each seems fair.

I just dont know what to look for when buying this stuff so id appreciate any help!

Started to rip into it for about an hour tonight! Getting cold out there

Here's what I'm using to keep all of my parts straight! As you can see I have removed all of the "boxes" from the bike haha

I removed that stupid rack off the back but im pretty sure both of these pieces go to it? not sure? do they make a different piece to hold all of the lights?

I'M getting more and more excited as i dig into it. The weather is not cooperating, hopefully going to be moving the bike to my friends garage in the next couple weeks. Then I can work all winter without freezing certain parts off!

The wheels on the other bike are "Comstars" 16 inch rear, and 19 inch front. $25.00 each is a steal. You will need the front triple tree to run the front one though. the forks are spaced wider apart on the later DOHC bikes. However I would just try to get the whole front end, and use it. Just use a tapered roller bearing conversion kit in the neck.
On the lights. The grab rail with the turn signals is stock, and that is where they mount.

so i just talked to that guy about the rims, he said hes got a set of comstars 50 bucks for the set.

he also said hed do a whole front end including brakes for $100

hes got a ton of cb750 parts and neither of us are sure what will work on my bike.

will any front end from any dohc model fit on my bike with some conversion and fit the tire aswell?

im just not sure what to look for and i dont want to buy anything and have it not work!

Yes any DOHC, or Gold Wing will fit. $100.00, for a complete front end is a deal. Also by using a complete front end, you will not have any issues with parts matching. The only thing, you will need is a tapered roller bearing conversion kit, for the steering stem/neck. I have used the "Allballs" brand. It comes with seals.

Tools,is there an adapter needed to swap a Goldwing front to a CB neck,or are you just talking about replacing the bearings in general?

All, you need is the bearings, and a 75-76 Gold Wing front end.

Just make sure it is clean. I would wipe it down with some wax, and grease remover. Also I would recomend a spray can over the brush.

I'd suggest using some rust treatment(Permatex)wally world less then 5bucks will last the whole bike plus.
scub out dirt n such with wire brush ,wipe clean,to remove any oil or just junk, bad scatches can use spot puddy right over top,but will need primer and paint I wouldn't bother and just leave.
just painted the bad spots on my frame, underneath and around bolts that were chiped paint and started to rust,I used a brush and used 2 coats only put on in bads area goes on white turns black,You wont to keep the lid on bottle, pour very small into small cap( I used rattle can cap). Most small areas left as is,
           Good Luck and Welcome, Piute

A brush will work fine, but not a foam one. What kind of paint are you using?I would use spray paint over a foam brush any day.But a decent brush with actual hairs will give you better results.I painted a dragster once with Rustoleum paint, cut with mineral spirits, and one of those el-cheapo $0.99 brushes from lowes. It turned out good and lasted very well for a fendrless  car that sees a lot of flying gravels. Here it is.You cant see the frame,of course, but the stripes were done by brush as well.I prefer brush over spray. But that is just my opinion

Re: My First Bike!! 76 CB750F

Thanks for all the great advice guys. I will be stripping the bike completely except for the the block, which i will cover in plastic.

Then I will be cleaning it with some krylon prep spray (removes grease wax and junk)
then ill do a coating of the permatex rust treatment maybe two coats?
then i was thinking of going with rustoleum flat black for the final coat.

I'm not sure if permatex then rustoleum is overkill. is there a better final coat i could or should be using?
