New forum layout

Administrator
This post was updated on .
We got a new forum layout. We should hopefully start to have stickies going soon to post links for parts or how-tos.
There is a sub group for posting pics of your bikes. I would say any bike is welcome. Yes, even Harley!

Rules are the same as before. Probably the biggest thing is just no nudity.

I will work on customizing this forum but of course it will be within the boundaries of the hosting software.

You may have noticed a couple sub categories. If you do not want to see these, you can click the "threaded View" button and it will look close to the same as before.

Let me know thoughts on this and I will test different things to see what works and what does not.

Maybe we can get some expansion and maybe attract fellow 750 riders.

Also, if you go into a thread and it is collapsed, you should be able to click "classic" view at the top left and all the replies should show.

Looks good.  I appreciate all the work done to keep this site going.  Everything works like it should, just like Hondas. :-)

First time here, but it's pretty swanky. 9/10 easily.

I use a Mac so my "text-insertion-point" mouse cursor blends in kinda too easily into the background, and sometimes it's hard to tell where it's at on the screen. But that's my problem.

Don't forget what was originally said: Swanky. Keep up the good work.

I recently joined the forum so I'm not sure what it looked like before. I am sure about one thing however... "old" or "new" this is an awesome site and I really appreciate how much I stand to learn from all of the great knowledge that is shared here..  thank you all!

I am a member of several bike sites. One for each bike I've owned. Some better than others but I have been impressed so far. I agree, it would be nice to see where everyone is from under the avatar. Your doing a great job re-run. I know this isn't an easy job!

i don't know if this had been asked or explained somewhere, but thought i'd mention it.

what is the difference between the "topic" portion and the "open forum" portion? It seems most of the post are along the same lines although i'm sure there was a method for separating them, i usually just post in the general topic one since it's at the top, but would like to make sure i'm putting stuff in the correct area.

Love the new layout overall though, you've done great work.

I try to have it so that the primary is for tech issues. Open forum is for other types of bikes or other topics in general. Member bikes is for showing off your ride. The for sale section is self explanitory. The builds area is where you can document your current build, basically letting people know what you are doing.

Hard to say as it is auto generated by the site host.
Welcome though I hope you get the assistance you need.

Just a reminder:

The TOPICS section is the "front door" and should be where you post questions about technical issues.

There are a LOT of posts that are showing up in other sections (namely REPAIR and WRITEUP) that need to be moved.  REPAIR and WRITE UP are for procedures to do stuff like sync carbs, change oil, repair a broken cam chain, change a tire, etc.

If you're new here, take a little time and use the SEARCH function if you're looking for information or answers to what's plaguing your bike or making you curious.  If you don't find it with a SEARCH, by all means do a new topic/post.  There is a whole lot of information on this board, contributed over the years.

Once in a while, we may do some cleanup and move postings/topics around to where they "should" be. This is just to keep things organized.  If your posting got moved, please don't be offended.  Just do a search on your username, and you should find your posting(s).

Questions/comments/suggestions?  Message Re-Run or me.  Anything that will help this forum run smoothly and efficiently is welcome.  Griping, whining, and the like will be directed to the bit bucket.

Administratively yours,
Luke M

A link to "new posts" since last visit would be nice. Maybe it's here and I don't see it.

If you look at the right side of the main screen, you'll see when the last few posts were updated.  If you want to look at the whole folder, click on the "View More" portion, and that will open up everything.

I hope this helps.
