New guy from western MA (Pics inside)!

elohel
Whatsup everyone.
My name is Matt. I just got my first bike today from my grandfather. He hasnt rode/started his 1982 CB750K in about 2 - 3 years and decided to give it to me to fix it up over the winter.

Im real excited haha.

Just a little about me;
Im 19 years old (turning 20 soon)
Attending college for Graphic Design.
Ive played drums my whole life.
Im a HUGE car enthusiast (my love resides with Volkswagen).
And uh yea Im just your average college kid haha.

Heres my car;
7hr Detail
BrokeDown

I bought it pretty much stock and have done a whooooooooole lot of work to it.
Its my love.

And heres the bike (lol, its uh, real dirty);

I already have a huge list of plans for it, and ive already begun de-assembling it haha

I LOVE this one that I found online...

Im just curious if someone could point me to where I can find a seat like this one (the big red circle haha).
And also, where to find a brake light AND blinkers like these too (blue arrows).
AND if its not too much to ask, maybe a headlight/blinker combo thats a little more simpler like in the small red circle

And uhhhhh.... Well I think thats all for now. Ill probably have a million more questions to ask as I continue to tear this beast apart.

Cheers!
- Matt

Welcome to the forum. You have some nice toys, for a college kid. I would check out Dime City Cycles, and Carpy, for the parts.

Hello Matt,welcome to the forum!That seat appears to be a one-off.Not sure you can order one.The lights should be readily available at any local bike shop.As far as the other I'd go with what Tools said.Good to have ya!

Haha thanks man I love my toy(s).
I only work like 30hrs a week so 90% of my money goes into that.

But nowwwww a little money is gonna go into this haha.

And I never heard of Dime City Cycles, but thanks man! They look legit!
And Ive already dug into Carpy haha. I want to keep it a 2-seater so making into a single-cafe-race isnt really in my book. But he still has some great parts!

And damn the seat is a one-off? I was afraid of that. I feel like the seat that it came with is huge haha.
Anywhere to get a good seat?

And theres a few local shops around me, guess I just gotta go look into them. I figured since its an 82 that maybe they would have limited parts haha.

Are there any other websites? Like for my Jetta, I know of like...15-20 websites for parts! I can go all over the place, I didnt know if maybe there were more sites like Dime Ciy?

I've found alot of hard to find items on eBay.  Here's your light:http://www.ebay.com/itm/HONDA-CB750K-FRONT-LEFT-RIGHT-TURN-SIGNAL-1979-1982-/390271481666?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr&hash=item5addfe3742.

Welcome to the forum.  Keep the pics coming as you progress.  Nice looking scoot...make Gramps proud!
In 1972 I had to make a choice...quit riding...or quit drinking.  God says it's safe to get back in the saddle now...at least I'm still alive...and feel more alive with the wind in my face!  Now riding "Helen Black"...1982  CB750SC.

Haha oh yea?

Yea thats just how VW's are. You fix one thing and then like a couple weeks later you got another problem.

Like right now, I have a CEL for 4 different codes. Crazy... It likes to pop on and off so I just let it do its own thing.

On another note! - Ive been de-assembling the bike slowly. Haha.

Elohel i know there's a guy in Quincy who does restorations that I've seen up on craigslist pricing istn too bad.  Most of the major work done to my bike (prior to my purchase) was done by cafe cylces down in warren RI.  Kid is cool and easy to work with too as far as getting the designs and concepts that you want vs what is actually feasible put into the bike

Good luck with the whip and catch ya around the states

Oh really? Sweet if I ever get stuck ill look them up!

I have many many plans but to break it down simply it goes like;

1. Get it running. So flush everything... Clean everything... Do everything - Get it back to working correctly.
2. Paint it. Im gonna re-spray the frame and the tank.
3. New headlights, taillights, and blinkers. I dont like how bulky the setup is right now.
4. New bars and gauges, possibly new grips, OH and new mirrors haha. The current setup is also very bulky.
5. POLISH. Im gonna try to get the mirror finish back on everything that is supposed to have it haha.
6. MORE PAINT. These a few pieces that Im going to paint to go along with that tank and frame.

And uh, yea thats about as simple as I can put it haha.
